Dr. Spyridon Doukakis, Assistant Professor, Ionian University
Spyridon Doukakis is an assistant professor at the Ionian University – Greece,
Department of Informatics and president of the Institute of Educational Policy of
Greece. His main research interests lie in the areas of Computing Education, Distance
Learning and Educational Neuroscience. He has co-authored more than 100 papers in
journals and conferences proceedings. Moreover, he has published several educational
materials and has participated in research and development projects. He has received
a Fulbright scholarship and has been awarded with the Harvard Prize Book Teacher
Award.
Dr. Theodoros Karvounidis, Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Piraeus
Theodoros Karvounidis is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Informatics
of the University of Piraeus, an Adjunct Lecturer in the Joint Postgraduate Program
“Modern Information Technologies and Services” offered by the University of Westen
Macedonia in collaboration with the University of Piraeus and a High School
Principal in the public secondary education. Before that, Theodoros worked in the
private sector for almost 15 years, participating in many IT and Telecom R&D
projects, both in technical and managerial positions. He has co-authored more than 60
papers in journals and conferences proceedings and eight books for programming and
robotics. As a postdoctoral researcher he has participated in a variety of R&D projects
mainly in Cybersecurity, and e-Learning. His main research interests lie in the areas
of Cybersecurity, e-Learning, Smart Cities, IoT, IT Law and Regulation and Robotics.
Dr. Eleni Seralidou, Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Piraeus
Eleni Seralidou holds a PhD in “Collaborative Internet Tools in Education” and an
MSc in Advanced Information Systems from the department of Informatics of the
University of Piraeus – Greece. Since 2021 Eleni is a postdoctoral researcher in the
department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus and since 2018 she is an
external partner in the Joint Postgraduate Program “Modern Information Technologies
and Services”, which is offered by the University of Western Macedonia in
collaboration with the University of Piraeus. From 2003 until today she works as an
Informatics teacher in secondary education. Her interests include games, mobile
applications, programming techniques, collaborative tools, IoT and AR/VR
technologies.
